Who is  dotGATSBY? Where you from ?
dotGATSBY is a Hip-Hop rebelutionary sent from the future. Originally born in Bogota, Colombia. I'm the guy that says the things everyone else wants to say but can't

Who inspired you to get in the game ?
I've had plenty of inspiration during my lifetime but my ORIGINAL inspiration came from the first "House Party" movie. When I saw Kid and Play rocking the mic infront of that party I knew that I was destined for the same (even though it was a movie).

What there too do in Gainesville, GA ?

Honestly, not much. We've got High School sports. The trap. Chicken plants. Plenty of parking lots to skate board in. A couple of studio's to drop rhyme's in. Asides from that, you better have imagination & a hobby

You have been on the grind for a minute.  Tell us about some of your previous projects?
During 2009, I was heavy on the open mic scene with my single, "Ringtone Rapper?". My grind actually landed me in the Def Jam offices infront of Kawan Prather. I've hosted a couple college radio shows. During 2010, I set out on a mission to drop 11 FREE mixtapes, though I only got around to releasing 8. I've been writing mixtape reviews for the ILLEST HIP-HOP publication in the game, "On Tha Real Magazine" .. but wait, you know that right?

What are you working on currently?
I'm slowly but surely building an indie label, "AW.D.OH Crack", I'm preparing to start my own college radio show on Brenau University's FM dial, and OF COURSE building the "dotGATSBY" brand buzz.

What your  leading single at the moment ?

My leading single is "WHAT THE SCIENCE IS?". I once heard a up-north homey ask, "What's the science?". I really dug the lingo. So I decided to make sure southern heads were up on it the same and turned it into a hook. When I ask it, I want to know the real. The science behind your actions or the happenings at the time being.

What are some of the biggest challenges you face as an independent artist?
Being taken seriously is one major challenge. EVERYONE is a artist these days. So you've got to know handing my music to DJ's, promoters and press isn't as effective as it used to be. You've got to deal with over-saturation of the music scene especially in ATL! Also, location.

People who haven't heard of your sound , how would you describe your sound ?
Rebelutionary Backpack Tunes

Who do you have in your Cd deck now ?
I've got some Al Green, Kid Cudi, Rage Against The Machine, 2Pac & Outkast.

Do you think that US should  have shown Bin laden picture?  why?
Before I continue, take into consideration that when we caught Sadaam we kept him in jail for a hot minute, tried him in court and had every news reporter in the country feature his image on thier show. So let's say that really was Bin Laden which I don't believe it was. No. What I feel was worse though was that if it was him, WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU BURY HIM AT SEA? Blatant disrespect.

Your thoughts on the Hip hop overall  ?
My thought on Hip-Hop at the moment can be best described with a title of a George Lucas movie called, "Attack Of The Clones".

What do you love to do outside of music?
Outside of music, I love to kick it with my chick. I love to read & gain knowledge on anything under the sun. I love start forest fires but not literally. I'm a XBOX LIVE beast (Gamertag: dotGATSBY). I love to write (stories, reviews and dreams I've had the past night). I love to listen to other people's life stories. I'm down for almost anything.

Thank you Karl & thank you world for reading up on the future of change in this game and in this world. 11.11.2011 is when I drop MY FIRST & ONLY ALBUM. Why only? They'll probably try to kill me after they hear the ish I've got to say. GOD bless you all! .dot

Shiiid really a nigga been rapping since cafeteria's in middle school when nigga was beat in with pencils rappin with pull out capps in....

Just growing up listening to certain shit used to turn me up at a young age man extra fire shit always did something  to make me love when i hear a fire song...it just have me itchin on the inside like man throw me on the mic I'm finna holla at these Folkz........

What’s your inspiration?
I was inspired by mid 90's i had my mind made up that i wanted to be involved, it just seemed like when shit wasn't going right certain songs on the radio or on your fave cassette tape would make feel better at the time being! Which played a big role on the average black family growing because everybody household was stressing!

When did you decide you wanted to take your music seriously?
I start always thought i was taking it serious until i realized i had to separate my street life from business because it wont mix the time came where i had to choose because we had such a bad rep lingering behind my click name promoters, dj's, etc where scared to have us at there events but now we've showing them were pretty serious with big turn arounds like BLOCK BOY BOUNCE hitting Hot 107.9 last year! I really got out here and experienced the grind and either it a make you or break you it get ruff but i love challenges i guess me being a Aries as a big part of that! Stunna

Fulfilling and filling positions you know once I'm straight i wanna be able to put the next person in position whether its your potna, dj, promoter, club owner or whateva! Dats just me if everybody play there position like there supposed to we all can eat!

DJ NVS Styles

Wednesday, 20 April 2011 Written by Nola

Congratulations on The Bunny Lounge MIXtape I see that you won!

DJ NVS Styles: The Mixtape I won for go figure was the first mixtape I dropped with Coast to Coast DJs, in the category my idol DJ Jazzy Jeff was among who I was up against. I'm honored to have won "Best Dance/Party Mixtape". My other 2 nominations were under "Best Rap Mixtape" for 2010 Get Wasted & "Mixtape of the Year" for Hustler's Pair-A-Dice V3 w/ ENY$E.

Beside DJ'ing what else are you doing?

DJ NVS Styles: That's what I'm focused on for now. Started as a battle DJ doing competitions, now working more on clubs, special events, tours & mixtapes. Also wish to do more studio albums, I did the scratches on Too Short's "Burn Rubber" Produced by Lil Jon. Getting album credit feels good to be a part of a song not just playing a song.

What is your approach to djing, do you have anything planned out?

DJ NVS Styles: Now a days DJ’s are pre-programmed with laptops, a lot of DJ’s depend on pre-selected sets. I’m a free style dj meaning I go off the dome, I rather be in a situation where I have a rapper in my ear telling me to play his song and then it hits me that oh shit I got just a few to switch it that’s my style of djing. I never know my next move it depends on the crowd. Get me a cup of Hennessey to catch my buzz and I’m in my zone. Shout out to Hennessey y’all need to give me a sponsorship as much I drink yall @ the clubs

Do you do anything besides Djing?

Dj NVS Styles: Djing is what I do full time. I’ve played with production but decided to focus on my DJ'ing then add producer to my credit later on. The concept I got for my DJ album will be a combination of DJ & Producer production.

Who would you say inspires you?

DJ NVS Styles: DJ AM inspired me by balancing the art of the turntable & laptop. Originally it was DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Scratch, & DJ Premier that got me to love the sound of the scratch. Later on seeing Q-Bert & Mix Master Mike just take the art to a scratch musical level. First person I battled was the homie DJ Craze in 1995 but I didn't know him from before that. I learned a few technical things from him & always see him as my "direct" influence.

What do see yourself doing in the next 5 years?

Become an A&R to help push what I think should be heard or push those artists that have been slept on. Changing the mixtape game by calling mixtapes without mixing, no DJ, no element of DJ'ing "Compilations" and "MIXtapes" with the true DJ element.

If you can change something about the industry?

Dj NVS Styles: It’s too many things. Mainly the people who just don't pay properly or pay at all after work is done. Makes it hard for everyone in the bizz. Some things are good for cross promo where they both win but that's something that needs to be agreed between both parties.

What style of music do you like to play when you’re Djing?

Dj NVS Styles: Its a two part answer. I gotta urban style it doesn’t have to be Rick Ross, it could be a Run DMC record. Something about an Urban Party doesn’t matter what crowd but I like to have an open format flow to cater to my crowd. It really all just depends on the crowd.

What Artist do you plan on working in the future?

Look out for Mixtapes with Creeze, B-Dope, Haitian Fresh, Money Mark, La Lah, Reesehead & Fresha, Billy Blue, Young Boomin, DB Tha General, Bo Strangles, Boo Bundlez, LA Tha Darkman, Travis Porter, & a ton of others.

 Any upcoming events?

Dj NVS Styles: Besides the local clubs in Miami I'll be doing more out of town events this year along with the Mixtape projects I'm doing. Expansion is key.

 The name change explain?

Dj NVS Styles: My old name when I started in high school was NV which was obviously confused later on with the New York DJ Envy. I decided in 2004 to extend not change my name. I feel it’s more of a statement NVS Styles. When I did the Too Short and Lil Jon project "Burn Rubber" & saw my name credited on the album it just blessed the name. If you ever see NVS spelled the proper way obviously it's not me. DJ NVS Styles is a brand and that I own.

 Where can people reach you?

Dj NVS Styles: You can reach me on twitter @DJNVSStyles or email me This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

 Any last shout outs?

Dj NVS Styles: Shouts out to Janiro & Southern Entertainment Awards, Nola & On Tha Real Magazine, Lil Fats & Coast2Coast DJ's, Salute the Dj’s Awards, IDJ Awards, Tony Neal & The Core DJ's Coast 2 Coast DJ's, Bunny The Model, Elora Mason, DJ Slayer & The Justos, The Rap Manager, I Got Gas Money, ENY$E, Fawn & Farrah, Stackz, and anybody showing love especially for my DJ work.

Terance Walker ( Producer spotlight)

Wednesday, 20 April 2011 Written by Big Karl

How did you get started as a producer? Who or what inspired you?

I initially got started  as a producer by taking a mandatory Classical piano class in highschool, that I didn't like at first. It started from me playing any & everything that I heard on the radio. So I was inspired by all of the greats that I was listening to at that time, from Dame Grease, Scarface,Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz to Teddy Riley, Stevie Wonder & many others.

What artists are you working with?

Currently I have a new young artist from out of the DMV who goes by Lyriciss along w/ YungE. of LikeBlood, I have a new female MC from South London named Evon the Music Bully that I just started working with. I just finished up a mixtape Project w/ an artist I interned w/ @ Hot Beats Studio by the name Mika H., plus many more So Im working with alot of talented artist right now.

What artist/producers would you like to collaborate with in the future?

I would love to work w/ Dr.Dre since he's an artist & producer, Kanye West, T.I., Eightball&MJG, Bun B, Scarface. All of the legends that make me what I am today.

What is your approach to working with artists?

My first approach is to observe how serious they are, and the drive & dedication they have for their craft. That normaly narrows  it down. From there I try to match their sound, or compliment & enhance what they are already doing to get them to that next level.

Do you have any publishing deal or you self published?

I'm self Published ("WutItDo Productions") Officially since 2006.

What or who inspires you?

I honestly listen to nothing but 60's 70's & 80's Vinyls Mostly R&B/Soul & Rock. I'm a Vintage Vinyl collector so its also fun for me to sit back & Listen to real heartfelt music.

What are your goals?

My goals are to continue delivering my sound to the talented up & coming artist all over the world as well as established Artist of today

What sets you apart from other producers?

My grind sets me apart from others. You gotta be seen in this over saturated industry, & work a thousand times harder, so I've done it all from Beat Battles to  Showcases  to Music Seminars just so the people could receive & hear my Music.

What style of music do you focus on?

It depends on the Artist that I'm working with. If its a Lyrical artist I may focus more on Hip Hop. if its a Pop or R&B I'll focus on that style. I'm kinda like Burger King you can have it your way...Lol

If you can change one thing about the industry what would it be?

I would change the Politics in the business. I know so many artist that will not see the light of day because of Politics & their better than most Artist out now.

How can an artist get in contact with you? You can contact me through twitter @reasonjunkie or email me This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane, who was recently released from a Fulton County jail, can’t seem to escape controversy.

Gucci has been working non-stop since his release from jail last Wednesday, shooting seven music videos in seven days. Violence erupted on the fourth day while shooting the video for “Anti Social”, leaving two men severely injured. HipHopEnquirer.com photographer Dennis Byron snapped pictures and detailed the attack.

“A short time after 8:00pm while I was conducting an interview with R & B singer Mila, who is also featured on the ‘Anti Social’ single, I heard a thumping sound and when I turned around I saw these two males sprawled out on the street” said Bryon. “One of the men involved appeared to be unconscious as his body was motionless. The other male appeared to be incoherent when he was being questioned by passerby.”

According to witnesses, the men were seen breaking into cars on the set of the video shoot.

“After the thieves were subdued, the authorities were contacted and paramedics were dispatched” stated Byron. According to the HipHopEnquirer, Gucci Mane & his affiliates were not involved in the fight. Check out pictures of the suspects laid out below:
