Gloss Da Boss "GLOSS WORLD THE EVOLUTION"
For people who don't know who Gloss Da Boss is, give us an introduction, who you are, were you're from ?
Im an artist/entertainer. Im a rapper/singer songwriter performer coming out of the Atl.
Who inspired you to get into the industry ?
A huge inspiration of mine is my dad. Since I can remember he always kept me around music. Before I was born he was a DJ back in New York and my parents always tell me stories about how when i was a baby and we were living in Harlem, he kept his equipment next to our bedside. And even when we moved to Atlanta he had different artist that he was managing so I would travel with him to different studios and be so fascinated with what his artist were doing from the writing process to laying it down in the booth. My father also did some production work. He received a gold plaque for some production he did on the Rhyme & Reason soundtrack, so every time I go to our home studio and see the plaque, that's a motivator right there. But other inspirations include Jay-Z, he's my all time favorite rapper , Outkast, they're iconic, Fab, Beyonce, Aaliyah, 50 Cent and that's just to name a few, honestly.
How'd you decide on the name Gloss Da Boss ?
-Gloss came about because I've always been fascinated with lip gloss. From the glossiness to the shades, I always had to keep a couple of tubes with me and then my parents nicknamed me that and I thought it was kind of corny at first but then I realized as stage name it would be cool. The shades represent my versatility because I do have my Hip-Hop side and then I have my Pop side. Also with me being a rapper/singer and an all around performer, I thought the name was the best representation of who I am as an artist. And I love fashion, which is my second love next to entertaining. You can see my Glossy side in the clothes and shoes I wear, as well as through my changing hairstyles and nails- all of it is an extension of me expressing myself and my artistic side. The Boss came about simply because I'm a young girl doing my thing. I'm hands on with my project and I'm pursuing a dream and anyone doing that is a boss.
How did you develop your sound?
Just being raised around music in general has helped me develop my sound. It's a blessing that I was raised around Hip-hop but I also went thru my Pop craze so Im able to switch it up. Whenever I'm in my Pop mood I can go to the studio and record a Pop record or if I'm in a Hip-Hop mood I can lay a Hip-Hop record. I'm a 90's baby and I'm blessed to say that I was around during one of best times of music- period.
Are you currently working on any projects?
Yes my mixtape Gloss World: The Evolution. I'm dropping that now, which I'm so excited about. I have some awesome features like "Fly Ish Only" with Future, a song called "Now A Lata" ft. Shawty Lo. I also have songs with Princess, Sonny Digital, Stuey Rock and Zaytoven. It's definitely a smash.
Are there any artists/producers you admire and wish to work with?
Definitely! There are so many artist and producers I'd love to work with. Jay-Z (of course), Beyonce', B.O.B, Outkast, Tip, Lil Wayne, Drake, Fab, Swizz Beats, Timbaland, to even Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. Those are some very heavy hitters but there are so many other artist and producers I'd love to work with.
What are your musical goals and what lessons have you learned so far?
I want my music to be an escape. I feel like that's what music should be. I want my music to make others feel good whenever they don't. I don't just want to make music, I want to make classics; songs that can be heard years from now. I'm setting myself up for my legacy now. As far as lessons, I've learned that I'm still young, so I have so much more to learn but I will say it's very important to stay true to yourself and what it is that you do. It's also ok to try different things but if it doesn't fit then don't force it.
What's the best piece of advice someone ever gave you?
-With faith and hard work, you are unstopable.
What do you do when you're not making music?
I enjoy visiting schools and going to different functions. I love to talk to the young people and see what's going on with them and encourage them to stay motivated. I also don't mind hitting up a red carpet here and there to network and promote. I'm always rehearsing and performing a lot but on the rare occasion that I'm doing absolutely nothing pertaining to music, I cater to my family and friends whether it's shopping or just chillin.
What else can we expect from Gloss Da Boss for the rest of the year?
More music and just really going hard with this mixtape. It's time to turn it all the way up. I have some new videos coming soon and who knows what other blessings may come along with my hard work.

Who is Bambi and where you from?
Bambi is whoever she wakes up and decides she wants to be, ever changing w/no inhibitions from Compton, CA
Who influenced you getting into the industry ?
Both of my parents were musicians ... I had never really considered a career in music, I was a full-time actress, music just came naturally.
You growning up in the Compton area how was that like ?
Looking back, it was rough. Then, it was just life, I didn't know any better. Compton is a beautiful city though. It made me who I am today.
So what are you working on now ?
I just released my first mixtape (BamLanta), I'm just out on a promo tour in the south introducing people to myself as an artist and the movement (LipStick Gang)
What do you think sets you apart from the many new female rappers that are popping up everywhere besides that?
Mostly all new female artist are cosigned by a male artist, I've created my own movement of women and it's interesting to a lot of people. This definitely sets me apart.
What is the best constructive criticism you have got thus far that you are currently working on as a new artist? Honestly, I haven't received much feedback, at this point people are just watching.
Do you plan on releasing more mixtapes before creating a official album?
I'm not planning on it ... I have so much material and it's definitely album quality, I threw away all the mixtape songs on BamLanta and people love love love it.
So how would you describe your style ? I'm most def west coast, but being in Atlanta has exposed me to a different sound with southern beats and melodies, but I still have my Cali swag so my style is def one of a kind.
What does Bambi like to do while she isn’t on her grind writing rhymes?
The only thing I love to do is work, being able to take care of my family is what I live for. I'm grinding 24/7
